Actor Headshots in Los Angeles

We’ve been in your shoes. As actors ourselves, we know what it feels like to step in front of the camera, and that experience has shaped how we photograph every actor who steps in front of our lens.

What to Expect

The biggest misconception about actor headshots is that you have to come in and perform.

You don’t.

In fact, one of the first things we do is help you stop trying.

Because the moments casting responds to usually aren’t manufactured. They’re discovered.

Your job isn’t to perform. It’s simply to be present, enjoy the experience, and spend time with us.

As we photograph, we’ll regularly show you the images we’re creating together, so you’re never left wondering how the session is going or whether you’re getting what you need. You’ll see the subtle changes happening in real time, and you’ll quickly realize that sometimes doing almost nothing creates a look that says everything.

Great actor headshots aren’t created by forcing expressions or holding the perfect pose. They’re found in the subtle micro-expressions, tiny shifts in posture, fleeting glances, and natural moments that reveal character, create curiosity, and tell a story.

It’s our job to recognize those moments and capture them before they’re gone.

Some of the best headshots happen in moments when you don’t even realize we’re taking the photo.

Just be yourself. Let us do the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many outfits should I bring?

We recommend bringing 3–5 wardrobe options.

You don’t need your entire closet — and you definitely don’t need 14 variations of the same jacket.

Bring pieces you genuinely feel confident in. Once we’re on location, we’ll narrow it down quickly based on what photographs best and supports a clear, castable direction.

A few important notes to keep things running smoothly:

• Please arrive with clothing steamed, lint-free, and camera-ready.

• Try everything on beforehand to make sure it fits well and feels like you.

• Avoid bringing brand-new pieces you haven’t tested.

• If we suggest a specific color, trust that it’s intentional.

For hair and makeup:

• Bring hairspray or styling tools if you’ll need touch-ups.

• If you tend to get shiny, bring powder.

• Wear natural, casting-appropriate makeup — this isn’t the day to experiment with a brand-new look.

You’ll likely be changing in your car, so come prepared. The smoother the wardrobe process, the smoother the session.

The goal isn’t quantity. It’s clarity.

How long does an actor headshot session take?

Most sessions run between 60 and 90 minutes.

We don’t believe in dragging you around for half a day just to say we shot longer. Once we get what we need, we move on.

Our sessions are focused, efficient, and high energy. You’ll have time for multiple looks without feeling rushed — but we’re not here to exhaust you either.

When we’ve captured what works, we don’t overcomplicate it.

Where do we shoot?

Actor headshots are photographed on location using natural light and dynamic environments rather than traditional studio backdrops. This creates a more modern, industry-aligned look that feels authentic and cinematic.

Do you retouch actor headshots?

Every image we deliver is professionally edited. If you would like additional retouching or more extensive Photoshop work, we’re happy to discuss those options.

Actor headshots should look like you on your best day — not like a filtered version of you. Temporary blemishes, minor shaving cuts, or anything you wouldn’t normally walk into a casting office with can absolutely be softened if needed.

If it can’t be covered with makeup in real life, we won’t digitally alter it.

What if I wake up with a breakout or shaving cut?

Take a breath. It happens.

Temporary blemishes, minor shaving cuts, or anything you wouldn’t normally walk into a casting office with can absolutely be softened or removed if needed. Actor headshots should look like you on your best day — not like a filtered version of you.

That said, if you decide to shave your head the night before or show up with a black eye from a weekend adventure, we may need to have a quick conversation about timing.

When in doubt, just ask. We’re here to guide you.

Can I share my gallery with my agent?

Absolutely. Many clients share their gallery with agents or trusted advisors before making final selections. We’re happy to provide guidance if requested.

How do I know what “type” I should shoot for?

If you already have an agent or manager with a clear direction, we’ll align with their strategy and make sure your headshots support the roles you’re targeting.

If you don’t have representation yet, we’ll help you identify the most natural and marketable direction based on how you read on camera.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you arrive. That’s part of the process.

What time should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early and allow extra time for parking or traffic.

Being punctual sets the tone for a smooth, focused session. We stay on schedule so that every client receives the full experience without feeling rushed.

If you anticipate being late, communicate as soon as possible.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A 50% nonrefundable booking fee is required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due prior to your session.
